About
Interdisciplinary movement artist with sixteen years of training and ten years of teaching experience, based in Mumbai. She continually reinvents how she shares her practice in contemporary dance; for her, dance and movement are synonyms, and she enjoys creating vocabulary from simple actions and discovering new pathways and connections in the body. A performer, educator, choreographer and community builder, her training spans ballet, jazz, contemporary, capoeira, Contact Improvisation and breaking, alongside street styles including house and hip hop. She was programme director of Nritya Shakti Studio from 2017 to 2020. She has developed two full-length works: "to - mould", built around earthen pots in collaboration with Sarah Elsworth (NZ), and "under body, below word, a space", which blends dance, projection, spoken text and sound in collaboration with Gia Singh Arora. Both were supported by G5A's performance grant.
