Purnendra Kumar Meshram

About

Contemporary dancer, choreographer and dance educator based in Chhattisgarh, India. Holds a diploma in Movement Arts and Mixed Media from Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, Bangalore, and trained in contemporary dance, hip-hop and Kalaripayattu. Has performed with choreographers including Sudesh Adhana, Robert Moses' Kin and Sonia Rodriguez Hernandez. His work explores the complexities of human relationships and their bearing on society and politics; his piece 2 MEN won the Festival 10 Sentidos in Valencia. Recipient of the Artlink 100 Artist Grant (2022), the Pina Bausch Fellowship (2023), which supported a three-month mentorship with Sudesh Adhana, and the Serendipity Arts Residency (2024).
