A whole weekend to move, connect, and celebrate life through dance. Long Jam is a continuous space for Contact Improvisation, to drop in, dive deep, and flow together, with plenty of time to dance, accompanied now and then by music and silence. Part of the Contact in Paradise festival. All levels with CI experience welcome. Fri 18:00-21:00, Sat 10:00-13:00 & 15:00-18:00, Sun 10:00-13:00 & 14:00-16:00.

Spätsommer Contact-Jam Glarisegg

A four-day Contact Jam on the shores of Lake Constance at Schloss Glarisegg, a historic Swiss estate in the Thurgau region. The gathering brings together 40–60 dancers and musicians — beginners and experienced alike — in an intimate, community-centred format that has been running alongside the larger Contact Festival Glarisegg for many years. The spacious 250m² dance studio opens directly to the surrounding nature, with the lake and a private beach offering space to swim and unwind between sessions. Each day follows a rhythm of morning Qi Gong at the lake and Mantra Singing Circles after breakfast, with warm-ups through the day. Jam formats include Blind Jam, Silent Jam, Underscore (after Nancy Stark Smith), Outdoor Impro Score, and Contact Technique sessions. Saturday evening closes with a traditional lakeside campfire. CI teacher and organiser Benno Enderlein is joined by long-time Zurich-based CI teacher Muriel Mollet. Live music throughout the gathering is provided by Matej Fröbe; all participants are invited to bring their own instruments and join the collective soundscape (a piano is on site). Accommodation ranges from tent and caravan pitches to shared rooms and private rooms, all including three organic meals daily. The price is sliding scale: minimum CHF 350 / €368 all-in (camping), with the organisation fee (CHF 80–180) based on personal financial means.

Jamazo Italia 2026

JAMAZO ITALIA is back with the FIFTH edition — four days dedicated to the practice and celebration of Contact Improvisation. The heart of the event is a daily jam that runs for hours, framed by a shared opening and closing circle. Between jam sessions there's time to enjoy Genova's natural surroundings — the beach, the mountains, and the surrounding park — and, on Saturday, a communal buffet. Jamazo was initiated by Autarco Arfini in Rosario, Argentina; the Jamazo Italia team brought the format to Genova in 2022. The event is open to all levels of experience, and supports many ways of being with the long jam — dancing, watching, resting, writing, drawing, reading, sleeping. The dance space is a sports hall inside the Nervi public park (Parchi di Nervi), so passers-by may occasionally look in or enter to watch — this has always been done with respect and has not created interference. A shortened, somewhat different version of the previously planned week-long gathering, still offering a space for shared, community-oriented dancing, jams, and shared inquiry, open to all levels, ages, bodies, and gender identities. We, London's CI teaching and organising community, want to celebrate being here together and meet you as a community, not just as individual practitioners. Join us for one or two days of dancing, where you can fully let go—fall, fly, and be caught by the fabric of long-term, lush CI practices that our community holds. Experience CI as life integration where body meets mind and generates a collective field of care, curiosity and spirit. We enter with as little agenda as possible, honouring the present moment that improvisation and jamming invite. East Coast Jam — 5 days of Contact Improvisation in West Virginia. One of the longest-running CI jams on the US East Coast, held twice yearly since 1987 at Claymont Court Seminars and Retreat Center in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, about 1.5 hours from Washington, DC. The jam-focused event includes participant-facilitated warm-ups and CI-related activities, open jamming, and an evening of performance. Features a beautiful octagonal barn with a large dance floor and a smaller space in the mansion, shared lodging, luscious vegetarian meals, a wood-fired sauna and spring, wide vistas, and lots of beautiful spaces to explore. Capacity: up to 50 participants.

Falling Leaves Jam

Falling Leaves Jam at Earthdance — four days of Contact Improvisation in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts (October 22–26, 2026). The 2026 edition marks 40 years of Earthdance and carries the subtitle "A Community Visioning Lab for Earthdance's Future" — weaving the regular jam format with collective reflection on the past four decades of this CI community. Earthdance is one of the US's most storied residential CI centres, situated on a rural property in Plainfield, MA. The Falling Leaves Jam is an annual autumn gathering in the informal jam tradition: participant-driven, open-form, with no fixed curriculum. Days revolve around jams in the main barn, sharing meals and time in the landscape, and informal exchange. Guest teachers and CICO hosts are announced closer to the event. A weekend of contemplative dance, deep play, and contact improvisation at the Berkeley Finnish Hall. Friday evening opens with CI fundamentals and a jam. Damaris Webb leads Deep Play and Contemplative Dance in afternoon and evening sessions. Saturday offers parallel workshops: Body-Mind Centering and CI with Cathie Caraker, and Feldenkrais and CI with Kevin Dockery, plus an extended underscore. Sunday opens with a required orientation talk for first-timers, followed by open social time. Community dinner Friday evening; cafe with snacks, tea, and coffee throughout. Hosted by Sense Object. The 9th edition of this 4-day jam. Plenty of time for jamming with lots of food but few set mealtimes, leaving room for near non-stop dancing. Two morning circles, a small sharing group, and a few tuning-ins and special sessions -- otherwise no classes, just dance structures and the chance to lead your own sessions in smaller rooms or outdoors. Danced in silence, sometimes with live music. Arrive Thursday from 1pm; the jam ends Sunday around 3pm after a group tidy-up.
