Emilie de Vlam

About

Butoh dancer, performer, docent, and founder of DEVLOER, a free artist space for movement in Ghent. Studied social sciences and anthropology, then comparative knowledge systems, at the University of Ghent and St Andrews, followed by contemporary dance theatre training at HIDD Lier and butoh studies in Tokyo. Her practice, rooted in body weather laboratory methodology, explores the relationship between body and environment through participatory, community-based work.
