About

Cheyenne "Amen" Dunbar is a multidisciplinary movement artist and coach holding a black belt in Kung Fu San Soo, with training in Taijiquan, Ba Gua, wrestling, boxing, and professional Muay Thai; he also teaches Capoeira Angola and practices Escrima y Machete (Afro-Colombian fencing). He began singing with the Brooklyn Boys' Choir at age 8, and after a severe concussion at 27 dedicated himself to studying movement, discovering Contact Improvisation and becoming a sought-after instructor in the form. His teaching philosophy centers community support focused on self-expression, self-protection, and healthy living, which he frames as a human responsibility more than a lifestyle.
