German choreographer, dancer, and workshop facilitator (b. 1966), trained at the University for Music, Theater and Media in Hannover. Danced as a guest with the Lower Saxonian National Ballet Company of Hannover; worked as dancer/choreographic assistant at Nuremberg City Theater and Braunschweig National Theater. Directed the dance company of Hildesheim City Theater (1998-2002), incorporating contact improvisation into dancers' training. Discovered contact improvisation in 1994 and has taught CI classes and workshops regularly since 2004 at festivals, universities, and studios worldwide, including Argentina, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, and Japan. Has created around 200 choreographic works.
