About

Ophélie Brunet is a dancer, tree-climbing educator, and shiatsu practitioner. As a choreographer, she directed a dance company for nearly 10 years in Caen (Les Chronophages). As a performer, she has danced for various companies (Les Arts Sensibles, Lézards bleus, Studio Maho, Cie Étoile, Cie Itra, Cie du Haut, Cie K'elles...). She has worked with diverse audiences (amateur adults, students, schoolchildren, refugees, people with mental disabilities, people with Alzheimer's disease or Ehlers-Danlos syndrome), and worked as an outside eye for dance and circus companies. Alongside a Master's degree in theatre and training as an actress, mime, and clown, she encountered contemporary dance in 2004, vertical dance and Contact Improvisation in 2008, and Body Weather in 2012. Travelling across Europe, she has continued to practice Contact Improvisation and train with various teachers (Manuella Brivary, Stéphanie Auberville, Charlie Morrissey, Matthieu Gaudeau, Nancy Stark Smith, Karen Nelson, Franck Beaubois, Urs Stauffer...). She co-founded a Contact Improvisation collective, "Le Poulpe," in Caen in 2015 and taught there for several years (as well as in Rennes, Nantes, Poitiers, Lorient, and Brussels). She now co-leads workshop-jams in Douarnenez (29) within the association Stok-ha-stok, with Alice Browaeys and Goulven Le Roy.
