About
Johan Nilsson is a dance teacher and trained biodynamic gardener who links movement with the natural world. His movement background includes Capoeira, African Dance, World Dance and fire spinning before discovering Contact Improvisation in 2004, with main inspiration from Måns Erlandsson and Malin Anclair in Stockholm. He has since taught and performed at projects, festivals and dance events across Europe, co-founded the METAMORPHOSIS Improvisation Festival, and for the past seven years has taught classes and organised CI events in Järna and Stockholm. He is also one of the chairpersons of the Swedish biodynamic farming association. His biodynamic farming practice — working with spirals, evolution, rhythms and the elements — is a central source of inspiration for his teaching.
