Iiris Raipala

About

Iiris Raipala is a dance artist, performer and teacher based in Helsinki, with an MA in Dance and an MA in Art Pedagogy from the Theatre Academy of Finland (Taideyliopisto), and certification as an Iyengar yoga teacher and Holistic counselor. She has performed in works by choreographers including Lisa Nelson, Nancy Stark Smith, Tomi Paasonen and Julius Elo, and has practiced, taught and performed Contact Improvisation for over 25 years, alongside movement meditation and Axis Syllabus. She co-founded the Liminal Art Collective with Markus Sundblom in 2022, working at the intersection of ritual art, dance improvisation, and altered states of consciousness.
