Attila Gyárfás

Attila Gyárfás is a Hungarian drummer and composer from Budapest specializing in free improvisation, focusing on researching the tonal possibilities of the drum set. He has participated in over 20 recorded projects, collaborating with musicians including Malik Mezzadri, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Ralph Alessi, and Seijiro Murayama. As a bandleader he released three albums: Cloud Factory (2018), Randomity (2020), and Minimal Distance (2022). He co-founded the groups Quelquefois and Identified Flying Object, performs with the experimental folk jazz ensemble Kovász, and has taught jazz drums at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music since 2020.
