About

Alessandro Rivellino (Brazil) has lived dance and Contact Improvisation with deep commitment for 21 years as a dancer and 16 years as a teacher, travelling to more than 33 countries to give and receive classes, intensives, workshops, residencies, and jams with experienced colleagues. He has studied Body-Mind Centering, Feldenkrais, the Alexander Technique, Antigymnastics, GDS muscle chains, craniosacral osteopathy, modern and contemporary dance, anthropology, philosophy, choreography, performance, site-specific work, Butoh, Authentic Movement, Zen Buddhism, and ancient sacred technologies, alongside extensive Contact Improvisation. He is passionate about the practice and organizes retreats to explore its depth β€” sometimes in silence, sometimes through a somatic approach, bodily research, or nature-inspired formats β€” with the greatest pleasure simply being to offer time and space to the practice itself. He holds a master's degree and has received several awards and nominations as a dancer and choreographer. In his practice he integrates different techniques and seeks to bring the potential of dance into life, most drawn to the living questions around dance itself, presence, and the Great Mystery.
