About this event
The Silent Contact Retreat is an immersive week of Contact Improvisation in collective silence, held at Nordmarkskapellet — a chapel built in 1933 in the Nordmarka forest outside Oslo. The 2026 edition runs August 16–22 and is facilitated by Alessandro Rivellino, Mario Blanco, and Ann Kristin Foss Holten. The retreat invites participants into CI without words: jams, authentic movement, and structured movement scores unfold within sustained silence to deepen listening, embodied presence, and sensitivity in contact. Silence structures the full week — meals, breaks, and informal time are held quietly, creating an unusually immersive environment for deepening practice. All prices include the full programme, three vegetarian meals daily, and accommodation at Nordmarkskapellet. Options range from shared rooms in the chapel or tent camping on the grounds to a private room in a nearby modern cabin. A related pre-retreat workshop with Joerg Hassmann runs August 12–15 at the same venue (separate registration); a 10% discount applies when booking both events.
