About this event

SphereS is a new international Contact Improvisation festival held at the Boost Center in Hauteville-Lompnes, in the Ain/Bugey region of France between Lyon and Geneva (August 1–7, 2026). The programme is bilingual French–English and runs across six full days: four intensive tracks, three workshop tracks, a long underscore, outdoor and nature practice, silent jams, music jams, and daily integration and sharing times. Intensive teachers: Linda Bufali (IT) — 'Looking for Complexity'; Alessandro Rivellino (BR) — 'Space, Time and Bones'; Vega Luukkonen (FI) and Hugh Stanier (DE) together — 'Relational Bodies: Foundations and Explorations into CI.' Workshop teachers: Anjelika Doniy (RU) — 'Spiral Body Trajectories'; Gretchen Spiro and Steven Homsher (USA) together — 'Ocean and Bones'; Angela-Mara Florent (DE). Live music by Emily Tissot and Raphaël Mateos (both FR). The festival is residential. Accommodation options: rooms at the Boost Center IME building next door, or chalets at Camping des 12 Cols (5 minutes walk). Approximately 15 autonomous spots are available for people arriving by campervan or who prefer self-catering. Meals are primarily vegetarian with gluten-free and dairy-free options. All diversity welcome. The Full Pass (€490) covers workshops, jams, meals, and dormitory accommodation. A Solidarity Pass (€520–€550+) is available for those without financial difficulty who wish to support the festival. An Autonomous Pass (€250) covers workshops and jams only, without accommodation or meals. Both early bird prices have passed. Registration via HelloAsso.
