About this event
With Kirstie Simson & Simon Whitehead. Based in the very special Ty Sanctaid studio at Trefacwn and along the extraordinary Pembrokeshire coast, through dance practice and slow expedition we explore edges, betweenness, the resonance of touching and being in touch. Contemplating the transitions between Land and Sea - of Skin and Air - of Earth and Sky - of Inside and Out - of Life and Death - of Sacred and Matter we bring our attention to crossings, playing with what emerges through the senses. Through these contemplative-bodied practices, we offer spaces to meet and consider in movement what it means to be present to the current transitions of this living earth.\n\nWe have called our work together Practicing Places. This collaboration has been developed as an intensive movement workshop each summer since 2017 in the small village of Abercych in rural Pembrokeshire. This year we have decided to explore the workshop residentially, as a temporary community for the 4 days. Kirstie and Simon offer simple movement & listening scores for indoors and outdoors, interwoven with time to walk, draw, swim and eat together. Time together is blended with solitary time. Accommodation is in the main Trefacwn house, in twin or dorm rooms. Cost includes the workshop, room & shared use of the house including kitchen, one evening of sauna & first evening supper — meals otherwise organised communally. Max 14 places.
