Karin Moriarty
About
Karin Moriarty is a Chilean-born dancer and choreographer who relocated to the United States in the late 1970s, completing her B.A. in Dramatic Arts Dance at UC Berkeley in 1986. She studied Contact Improvisation under Tony Kramer at Stanford University and has performed with several Bay Area dance companies and artists, including the Dance Brigade and the Ellen Webb Dance Group. Known for site-specific work, she created "Along the River" (2003), a full-length piece performed at Andy Goldsworthy's outdoor stone sculpture installation "Stone River," presented alongside Stanford's museum exhibition "The Changing Garden." At the West Coast Contact Improvisation JAM she facilitates the BIPOC Only Jam.
