Aalia Hashem

About

Aalia Hashem (also known as Marriki) discovered Contact Improvisation at Edam Dance Company in Vancouver, studying with teachers including Andrew Harwood and Anne Cooper, and has since trained with over 50 CI teachers across Asia. She hosts the podcast Faces of CI, created the online self-study course Contact Body, and leads Momentum Contact Facilitator Trainings. She has been sharing Contact Improvisation in Bali since 2019, hosting jams, workshops and dance retreats, and splits her time between Asia (Bali, Thailand) and Canada (Vancouver, Saltspring Island).
