Vega Luukkonen — Falling in Love with Trios

About this event
Falling in Love with Trios — Trios can be so enjoyable and easy. During this weekend Vega shares her favorite tools and strategies to create ease and comfort dancing in a trio, or more: how to enter, how to leave, how to support the current dynamic in the trio or change it, how to make yourself available to dance in a trio. If dancing in trios, or with more than 2 people, is out of your comfort zone, no worries — the workshop approaches this step-by-step, exploring the principles also in solo & duet, with lots of space to dance in duets before building gradually towards trios. The workshop explores the underlying principles of Contact Improvisation in duets moving towards trio configurations: playing with composition, space, timing and slowing down to sense more subtly. Pausing and breathing allow more feeling and dropping into the moment. Dancing in trios is a great practice of letting go, researching spiraling and orbiting, catching each other's center trajectories, and cultivating the ability to read the composition of three or more dancers — waking up reflexes and instincts. Trios can also bring playfulness, care, and inclusion. Schedule: Optional Friday Contact Jam 20:00–24:00. Saturday 10:30–16:30 (optional Contact Jam 20:00–23:00). Sunday 10:30–16:30. Dancefloor: 220 sqm soft tatami mats. Food and accommodation not included; spaces are limited.
