About this event
Mass of Waves is a 10-day residential Contact Improvisation programme at Studio Binjari in Busan, South Korea (August 2–11, 2026), focused on the relationship between sound and movement. Rather than treating sound as background music, rhythmic support, or emotional trigger, the programme inquires into how sound operates as another partner — as a form of gravity that shapes the body and the dance. 'Language is created by us, while sound and movement have been present from the beginning as primordial creators.' This exploration invites participants to experience, beyond the disciplinary boundaries of music and dance, that all living beings are already sounding and moving — not about following artistic rules or fixed forms, but about discovering the sound and movement already inherent in us, and the joy of connecting and unfolding them as an undivided whole. The programme offers three contribution tiers: Regular (₩600,000–₩800,000), Support (₩800,000–₩1,000,000) for those without financial difficulty, and a Half Scholarship (₩300,000–₩400,000, 4 spots available). Accommodation is available separately: ₩200,000 for 8 nights or ₩25,000 per night. A separate application is open for those wishing to join as part of the support team.
