San Francisco-based Contact Improvisation teacher and choreographer. Practicing CI since 1981, with an MFA in Dance from the University of Illinois (1991). Directs Scott Wells & Dancers, twice awarded the Izzie (SF's most prestigious dance award) for Outstanding Choreography, and named one of Dance Magazine's '25 To Watch'. Has taught CI and contemporary dance at A.C.T., the San Francisco Conservatory for Dance, and UC Berkeley. Tours Europe annually, with festival appearances in Berlin, Vienna (Impulstanz), Barcelona, Budapest, Moscow, Zagreb, Bucharest, and Ankara. His CI style emphasises freedom of movement, flying, fluid acrobatics, safety, and precision alongside pleasure and technique.
