Sarah Jones

Sarah Jones (she/her/they/them) is a Contact Improvisation dancer, teacher, performer, and filmmaker based in Toronto. Twelve years ago she began her journey exploring CI and has taught classes at jams, women's dance groups, and dance festivals. They particularly enjoy introducing CI to dancers for the first time. Inspired by the visual aesthetic of CI and the Contact Dance International Film Festival (CDIFF), they began making dance films in 2017 and are now an award-winning documentary filmmaker. Their first short film 'Contested Landscapes' won the Audience Choice Award at CDIFF. In 2023 she won the Gold Award and the Audience Choice Award for her film 'The Toronto Contact Improvisation Community' at CDIFF. They organized the Sunday Contact Jam in Toronto for five years and presently assist in organizing events for REAson d'etre dance productions.
