Canadian Contact Improvisation teacher, author, and dharma teacher. Teaching and performing CI since 1980 in 32 countries on 6 continents. Author of 'Dancing Deeper Still: The Practice of Contact Improvisation', 'As Much Time as it Takes: A Guide to Healthy Grieving', and the anthology 'Hope Beneath Our Feet'. Fulbright Senior Specialist; listed in Who's Who in the World. Founding member of Motivity Dance Company (aerial dance on low trapezes); founder of The Dancing Ground (conferences on gender, race, and mythology). Former director of the Empty Gate Zen Center in Berkeley; ordained Zen dharma teacher (Chogye school, 1979). Worked with Touchdown Dance USA, teaching CI to blind practitioners. Based by the Salish Sea on Salt Spring Island, BC.
