About this event
The Second Annual Victoria Contact Improvisation Festival brings together eight teachers and a special guest for a 4-day exploration of contact improvisation through workshops, intensives, jams, breathwork, and evening offerings. The festival runs 9am–10pm daily at the Baumann Centre in Victoria, BC — a large 74 × 47 ft wheelchair-accessible studio. Programming includes morning practices, afternoon workshops, evening jams, and special sessions including an After Hours Jam (July 3) and a Breathwork & Movement offering (July 4). Teachers: Andrew Harwood, Anne Cooper, Francesca Frewer, Manuel Rochette, Bryn Thompson, Ange Vander Schilden, Farley Johansson, and Shannon Moreno. Special guest: Martin Keogh. Additional teachers: Holly Allen, Tiffany, and Maggie Wilder. Workshops are mixed level; one offering is suited to dancers with prior CI experience. Accommodation is not included — assistance available for hotels, homestays, and backyard camping nearby.
