Movement research began in childhood with gymnastics; has practiced, performed, taught, and researched Contact Improvisation for more than two decades. Teachers include Nancy Stark Smith, Marjean McKenna, Nina Martin, Martin Keogh, Keith Hennessy, Angie Hauser, Andrew Harwood, John Glenn, Jess Curtis, Ray Chung, and Chris Aiken. MFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah (2007), researching CI and creative process; her praxis builds on Nina Martin's Continuum of Deliberation. Intensive study with Deborah Hay in 2009 continues to inspire her work. Initiated Portal in 2021, a transborder platform for somatic experiments in dancemaking, co-facilitated with Miroslava Wilson Montoya across the US-Mexico border.
