Gianna Grünig
About
Dancer and choreographer based between Bern and Berlin. After studies at the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP, 2005–2010), Instant Composition became the focal point of her practice, studying with Julyen Hamilton, Maya M. Carroll and others. Initiates and co-creates collaborations with dancers and musicians, often in temporary spaces with history and mystery. Recent collaborations UNDA and TIDE feature Bettina Neuhaus (dance), Julian Sartorius (drums) and Martina Berther (bass). Also works for Company Sabine Hausherr and the inclusive dance company BewegGrund. Co-authored the book Elle parle comme un fleuve — une archéologie des rives. Teaches at akar Studio in Bern, and has worked in socio-cultural projects with displaced communities at the University of Applied Sciences for Social Work (ASH) Berlin and the intercultural women's centre KARIBU in Zollikofen, Switzerland.
