About
Dolores Dewhurst-Marks is an artist working with poetry, dance improvisation, and performance. She co-directs Art Continuum Nomadic Residency, the Being Nature project, and Towards โ Centre for Embodied Arts and Transformative Learning in Chiang Dao, Thailand. Her project Being Nature invites a deeper embodied self connected with the natural world, opening space for whole-body listening, improvisation, and multidisciplinary artistic expression. She co-teaches long-duration study programmes with Sasha Dodo: Gravitude, Inspiral, Silent Conversations (Poetry and Performance Laboratory), and Heart Plexus. She is the author of The Lost Place (poetry) and is currently working on Empty Rituals and Inspiral โ a book about Contact Improvisation. Her work in CI and somatics is shaped by Anna Halprin, Steve Paxton, Nancy Stark Smith, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Kirstie Simson, Ekaterina Basalaeva, Ming-Shen Ku, Anjelika Doniy, and Lalitaraja Joachim Chandler.
