About
Consuelo Pacheco is a contemporary dancer, movement educator and somatic researcher from Chile, based in Italy. Her experience with dance began in childhood and has shaped how she experiences the world. She is fascinated by the connection between movement, somatics and ecology, and explores embodiment as a fluid ecosystem in which every movement is a trace of our biological heritage and a response to the environment we inhabit. Over the past fifteen years the practices guiding her research have been Contact Improvisation, Tuning Scores and Contemplative Dance Practice, and she studies the relationship between dance and somatics through Body-Mind Centering, looking at how body-mind organization and integration influence the act of dancing. She is currently completing her certification as a Somatic Movement Educator through the Body-Mind Centering programme, and coordinates the dance programme at Spazio Seme, the international arts centre in Arezzo, Tuscany.
