About this event
Donde el Tiempo Toca (Where Time Touches) is a four-day Contact Improvisation residential retreat in Güemes, Cantabria, facilitated by Mónica Almagro and Lucía Sánchez. The programme explores the relationship between Time and Touch — how we inhabit time in the body, what arises when time slows, and what emerges in the moment of contact between two people. Sessions include 18 hours of workshop and guided dance practice, plus integration jams each afternoon and evening. Mónica Almagro holds a background in architecture and Dance Movement Therapy, and teaches CI through the lens of embodied movement and its connection to emotion and psyche. Lucía Sánchez works at the intersection of Contact Improvisation, somatic practices, and nature. Long-time friends and collaborators, this is their joint offering bringing together CI communities from Sierra de Madrid and Cantabria. The retreat takes place at Espacio Rueda, a dance and living space in a converted cowshed in the village of Güemes, surrounded by hills and eucalyptus forests on the Camino de Santiago del Norte. Nine meals are included (dinner Thursday through lunch Sunday). Accommodation options range from shared rooms to floor space in the dance hall or camping outside. Places are limited and assigned in order of registration.
