Emerging Hearts CI Dance Camp

Emerging Hearts CI Dance Camp is a 7-day residential Contact Improvisation gathering at Redwood Farm in the Mendip Hills near Frome, Somerset (22–29 June 2026), organised by Richard Parker and a co-creative community of teachers and volunteers. The camp brings together 14 teachers from across the UK and internationally for 60 hours of CI across the week. Each day opens with a somatic morning practice, moves into four parallel CI workshop tracks across two spaces (catering to all levels from beginners to experienced practitioners), and closes with live music jams — evening contact dance jams with improvising musicians, plus a focused jam tent with daily themes. Beyond the dancing: dedicated beginner support sessions; ecstatic dance, authentic movement, yoga, meditation, gong bath, and other movement and somatic workshops; a wood-fired sauna; wild swimming lake in the Mendip Hills; bodywork space; and campfire gatherings. A co-creative community model runs throughout — eating together, looking after the camp together, gathering under the stars. The site is fully off-grid (solar-powered, spring-fed water). All vegan and vegetarian meals included, prepared on site three times daily. Camping. Volunteer opportunities (kitchen, welcome team, workshop leading, setup, fire and sauna keeping) available in exchange for reduced-price tickets. Instalment payment options available.
