Elise Mae Nuding

Elise Mae Nuding is a CI teacher based in Sweden. She first encountered Contact Improvisation in 2010 at the American Dance Festival and Bates Dance Festival, studying with Nancy Stark Smith and Ishmael Houston-Jones, and completed her MA at London Contemporary Dance School in 2014. She has taught CI regularly since 2016 in Sweden and internationally — open classes in Stockholm, faculty positions at Balettakademien, Stockholm University of the Arts, Gothenburg University, and New Education for Contemporary Dance Härnösand, and a 60-hour CI course at Härnösands Folkhögskola. Co-organiser of the Sunday Jam Stockholm since 2019. Recent international teaching includes Echo Echo Studio (Derry), Contact Festival Freiburg 2024, and India Contact Festival 2025.
