About this event
Terra Contact is a Contact Improvisation festival at a small, energy-autonomous eco-site in the woods and scrubland of Roussillon Conflent, Pyrénées-Orientales, France. The site features a 100 m² wooden dance floor with views of both the Pyrenean peaks and the Mediterranean Sea. Dancing takes place barefoot among trees in a setting that emphasises wild, elemental connection. The 2026 edition is co-led by Matthieu Gaudeau and Alice Dutreuil-Nouchimowitz, coordinated by Sabine and Yael. The festival runs as two consecutive but separately registerable weeks: Week 1 (August 10–15) explores the theme 'Back to the Instinct'; Week 2 (August 17–23) engages with 'Animal Fictions.' Each week is limited to 30 participants. Sessions are conducted in French with collaborative translation, and the programme includes morning and evening practice sessions, workshops, and research labs. All-in pricing covers tent camping on the eco-site (collective meadow, solo on a hill, hammock, caravan, or sleeping under the stars), organic vegetarian meals, and the full programme. Mountains, rivers, and Mediterranean beaches are accessible within 10–30 minutes. The site runs on renewable energy and mountain spring water. Register via HelloAsso through the website.
