About
Ulli Wittemann's love of movement led him through Standard dance and Hip Hop as a teenager, then over 30 years of martial arts (Judo, Aikido, Kickboxing, Boxing, Thai Boxing), until he discovered Contact Improvisation in 2001 during his acting studies at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. After performing in over 1,000 productions at city theatres in Marburg, Nuremberg, and Munich, he chose self-employment in 2010 to share what inspires him most: acting, communication, and awareness in encounter and movement. He created the PLAYFIGHT System, helping people explore their "warrior nature" through respectful, mindful play rather than competition. He teaches Contact Improvisation worldwide — across Europe, Asia, North America, and the Middle East, including as guest professor at Sichuan University of Arts and Science in China and at institutions in Tokyo, Montreal, and New Delhi — with regular classes in Munich. He is an organizer of TanzTageTempelhof as well as international retreats such as the "Being Human" nature retreat in Goa and the Body Mind Soul Festival in Ulm.
