Suzanne Liska

About

Suzanne Liska (she/her) is a dance artist, choreographer, teacher, and researcher specializing in somatic practices, contact improvisation, dance theatre, and ensemble improvisation. She holds an MFA in Dance Choreography and is a Certified Alexander Technique Teacher. Her CI teaching integrates principles from the Alexander Technique, kinesiology, dance theatre, and improvisation practices to cultivate awareness, coordination, responsiveness, and ease in movement. She teaches in both post-secondary and community-based contexts, with a particular focus on CI, somatic movement practices, and collaborative learning environments. Her choreography and performance have been presented by Citadel + Compagnie, CanAsian KickStart, DanceWorks CoWorks, Dusk Dances, and Dance Matters, with support from the Canada Council for the Arts, Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council, York University, and SSHRC. Suzanne teaches at George Brown College's Theatre School and York University.
