About
A Portuguese dancer, choreographer, educator and artistic director with over 35 years of dance experience and more than 25 years of teaching internationally. His artistic journey has taken him from the National Conservatory Dance School in Lisbon to the Gulbenkian Ballet, the Batsheva Ensemble in Israel, Companhia de Dança de Lisboa, and Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel in Amsterdam. He later co-founded Amalgama Dance Company, creating and performing original works in Portugal and abroad. Alongside his artistic career, Pedro has dedicated over two decades to teaching movement in workshops, festivals, artistic residencies and higher education. His work integrates Contact Improvisation, somatic movement and improvisation as pathways to presence, creativity and embodied connection. His current research explores how movement can generate spaces of deep listening, collective intelligence and spontaneous creation.
