About
Practicing Contact Improvisation since 2001 and teaching since 2002, based in Novosibirsk. She was one of the creators and performers of the dance theatre Wampeter in the late 1990s, and since 2001 has run Art of Contact, a project offering regular classes, workshops and creative projects in contemporary dance and Contact Improvisation. She co-created the performance project System of Units, directed the Festival of Contact Improvisation in Altay, Siberia from 2009 to 2018, and teaches across Russia and internationally. Her practice explores CI as coherence and wholeness, the inner consistency of the whole system involved in action, and improvisation as the ability to create and shape forms, flows of forces, space and time, keeping the form an open exploration rather than a repetition of familiar shapes.
