Justin Holland
About
Justin Holland is a dancer, musician, and teacher with more than 30 years of professional experience in the performing arts. His long engagement with Contact Improvisation continues to fuel his curiosity, offering ongoing opportunities to learn through new bodies, sensations, and an ever-deepening listening at the point of contact. Central to his practice is the question of how dancers can care for themselves and their partners in ways that sustain both the form and the body over decades. He has studied with Nancy Stark Smith, Martin Keogh, Rinske Ginsberg, and Martin Hughes, and is a founding member of Bird On A Wire Dance Theatre, a CI performance ensemble. Justin has performed and taught throughout Australia and internationally, and currently teaches an ongoing Thursday night lab/jam for experienced dancers in Melbourne titled Deepening the Practice. He is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts and a qualified yoga teacher, and in recent years has expanded his focus to the TaKeTiNa Rhythm Process, teaching workshops across Australia and Asia.
