About
Brazilian choreographer, dancer and pedagogue based in Madrid. She trained in Brazil, holding a dance degree from the Federal University of Bahia, with a background spanning classical ballet, American modern technique (Graham, Limón, Horton, Cunningham), German expressionism, improvisation and Contact Improvisation. She settled in northern Spain in 1992 and moved to Madrid in 2001, where she worked as choreographer and dancer with the Rayo Malayo company of Francesc Bravo. In 2013 she founded Espacio FCI, a Contact Improvisation teaching project she directs, running training programmes in Madrid and Bilbao alongside regular classes. She also founded Cía. Omos Uno in 2008, a collaboration between musicians and dancers built on improvisation and real-time composition, and has taught regularly for over three decades in conservatories, universities, private schools and festivals.
