About this event
BODY of Water and Dirt 24-27 September in BUDAPEST Dance journey and contact improvisation with Pipaluk Join us for a beautiful trip into the moving body, into connecting bodies, into water and earth, and the sensory extravaganza of being alive. Our 4 day workshop takes us around Budapest, exploring in the studio, dancing in the warm waters, and re-discovering the city. We are artists, dancers, movers, explorers… shifting our perspective towards the simple, yet challenging, act of being present together. Improvising together, engaging in playful dances with gravity, is a beautiful way to process reality. You might argue that we improvise all the time, yet most of us tend to either overthink or repeat what we already know. Pipaluk (she/her) is our guide, a fun and intuitive teacher, she is all about being real, to use everything that we are, and allow the forces of the world to work through us. As human beings, as dancers and movers. Contact Improvisation is her long time passion, along with site specific movement discovery, and water dance. The diversity of movement in different environments offers us expanded body experience. Touching substance is an invitation, diving into the structural complexity of human bodies, as we study conscious interaction. To get physical, get dirty, to climb, fall and fly, savouring texture and sensation. We too, are nature - as we play, roll, jump, float, connect, and are allowed to be silent. Our workshop offers essential tools for an understanding of instant composition and relating. Our home is the dance studio, and from here we venture out to collect material and inputs. Expect both entertaining and profound experiences, as we are each other's teachers, and embrace curiosity and laughter. When having fun, our bodies are much more willing to open up and try something new. Pipaluk is a choreographer and independent producer, teacher and community organiser. She works with contact improvisation, contemporary dance improvisation and dance in nature. Pipaluk creates site specific performance projects and artistic meeting-spaces, encouraging dancers and artists to explore on their own terms. She researches, guides and performs around the world, and is also a musician and singer. In her life she studied and danced with so many inspiring and beautiful souls. Teaching and organising is her way of giving back, and to carry on the lineage of important ideas. Pipaluk is based in Copenhagen. www.pipaluk.net Registration : https://forms.gle/rGGoGyccELLmRxLn8 24-27 SEPT 2026 Workshop hours : Thursday 6-9 pm, studio Friday 9-12 am, pool Friday 3-6 pm, studio Saturday 10am-1pm, studio Saturday 16-20 pm, pool/outdoors Sunday 10am-1pm, studio/park Sunday 1-2pm open showing/sharing, park or studio Sunday 2-4pm picnic and closing circle, in the park Level : Open to all bodies, movers, dancers and performers wishing to expand and reflect upon their practice.
