About this event

A 5-day Contact Improvisation intensive at Spazio il Mulino, Tuscany, honouring the legacy of Nancy Stark Smith (2nd edition). Led by Angela-Mara Florant (DE) and Cristina Crippa (IT), both of whom worked with Nancy for many years. The workshop explores Nancy Stark Smith's teachings, techniques, patterns, concepts, and scores — including the Underscore — as living practice. A space of community exchange: shared research, embodied memory, and collective inquiry into what it means to keep material alive. Price breakdown: €190 food & accommodation + €160–360 teaching/organising fee (sliding scale). Weekend-only attendance possible. Pair sign-up discount available. Helpers spots at reduced rate. Angela-Mara Florant is a Hamburg-based CI teacher and organiser (Triade studio, NORDTANZ Festival), who studied with Nancy Stark Smith. Cristina Crippa is an Italian interdisciplinary artist who studied with Nancy Stark Smith at Earthdance (2013) and also practices the Ilan Lev Method. Accommodation: personal tent / shared bell tent (+€20, mattress+bedsheets+pillow) / van. Organic vegetarian/vegan meals included. Languages: English, Italian, Spanish.
