Camping in Contact 2026

About this event

A gathering of people and practices around movement and Contact Improvisation, in the quiet forest of La Mauricie National Park on a private, lakeside campsite (La Clairière, on the shores of Lac Wapizagonke). The daily schedule leaves room for personal time to swim, hike, nap, eat, journal and connect, alongside dancing in the grass, the water and the forest. The gathering includes 5 workshops, 3 open jams, evening campfires, song circles and swimming. Beginners to Contact Improvisation are welcome — everyone is invited to move and learn at their own pace. Draft schedule: Tue Sep 1: arrivals (4-7:30pm), social jam, fireside gathering Wed Sep 2: opening circle, CI workshop, performance workshop, silent jam, open mic night Thu Sep 3: morning circlesongs, CI workshop, sensory walk, performance & closing circle, jam, fireside hangout Fri Sep 4: farewell Camping is tent-only (no RVs or vans). Bring your own camping gear, food and cooking equipment — an equipment/ride-share document is sent out to registered participants to encourage sharing resources. Two kitchen shelters, a sanitary building with showers, and one fire pit are on site. Daily park entrance fees are waived for participants. This is a peanut-free event.
