About this event
Emotions are deeply embedded in bodily experience, yet often forced into rigid categories that constrain their expression and capacity for change. Drawing on Daniel Stern's concept of vitality affects, this workshop explores emotions through physical sensation and movement, using slowing down and an altered sense of time to release unnecessary tension and open space for new experience. Working through selected body systems of Body-Mind Centering® (fluids, bones, organs, endocrine glands), participants move toward authentic expression and dance-like impulses. Core elements are movement research, bodywork (with touch), and improvisation, drawing on contemporary dance, Contact Improvisation, and Authentic Movement, complemented by brief anatomy input and closed with writing, painting, and moving as integrative practice. Open to anyone interested in movement, with or without prior experience, as well as dancers and dance educators. Daily 10:00-14:00.
