Tiago Rouxinol

About

Born in Portugal in 1977, moved to Brazil in 1999 where he became a Capoeira teacher. Traveling Latin America, fell in love with music and studied percussion in Cuba; traveled repeatedly to West Africa to learn traditional instruments such as djembe, kora, and balafon. Multi-instrumentalist and co-creator of two world music bands, Yemadas and Onda 9. Studied Body Music with master Keith Terry of Cross Pulse, and created the "Music for All" workshop based on body percussion and Circle Singing -- teaching rhythm and coordination playfully, using only the body, no instruments.
