About
Independent choreographer and dancer recognized as one of Dance Magazine's "25 to Watch" for 2025. Based in Brooklyn, working with the company Urban Bush Women. Spent two years in Tobago immersing herself in folk dance and contemporary forms, then two years in Beijing on scholarship studying folk and classical Chinese dance. Her work explores the relationship to text -- transforming material from daily experience, fleeting thoughts, or dreams into abstract compositions, through room readings, streams of consciousness, and activating the voice to turn sentences into songs. Has collaborated on contact improvisation and text-based projects; now focuses on solo practice and small group formats. Teaches improvisation scores integrating text and movement, open to participants without formal contemporary dance training.
