Muriel Mollet
About
Muriel Jeanne Mollet works as a dance and movement educator, choreographer, water dance facilitator, and trainer in Kampfesspiele® (movement-based conflict transformation). She was a lecturer at the Zurich University of Performing Arts in Contemporary and Urban Stage Dance (HF ZUB) for ten years. After a three-year training at the Vocational School for Dance and Gymnastics (SBTG diploma, 1986–1989) she completed a two-year degree in Elementary Dance at the German Sport University Cologne (1989–1991), followed by continuous study in contemporary dance, Release technique, modern dance, improvisation, choreography, Contact Improvisation, and partnering in France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the USA, and Brazil. She was founder and director of the SURIEL dance theatre (1993–1997) and a member of the improvisation, research, and performance collective "x-group" from 2003 to 2012. She has been co-organiser of the Zurich Jam (since 2001), co-initiator of CILAS (Contact Improvisation Teacher Exchange Switzerland, since 2005), and organiser of the Zurich Water Jam (since 2011). Muriel teaches Contact Improvisation, dance improvisation, and contemporary dance regularly in Zurich, as well as at festivals, dance schools, and for dance and theatre groups. Joyful dancing, exploring physical forces, rhythm, music, and flow are the central themes in her teaching. Her workshops balance technical study with improvisation tasks and sensitive awareness exercises.
