Dance improviser, choreographer, and teacher originally from the Netherlands, based in Sweden since 1995. Graduated in 1986 from the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam and has since worked internationally as an independent dance artist, directing his own work and collaborating on both set and improvised pieces. An acclaimed international teacher of Contact Improvisation and Compositional Improvisation, focused on the creative and narrative potential of the human body. Founding member of the international improvisation ensemble Alternating Currents (1992–1994); co-organized the ECITE (European Contact Improvisation Teachers Exchange) conference in Sweden in 1998 and 2002 with Sybrig Dokter, with whom he also founded LAVA-Dansproduktion in 1997. Over more than 30 years has performed, choreographed, and taught across nearly all of Europe as well as the Americas, Japan, and India.
