Benno Enderlein
About
Benno Enderlein studied from 1989 to 1993 at the European Dance Development Center at the Arnhem University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands). He has been teaching Contact Improvisation since 1991 and has practiced Shiatsu alongside it — accredited by the GSD (Society for Shiatsu Germany) since 1997. For over 20 years he has been researching the interplay between Contact and Shiatsu, as well as Contact in water. He enjoys researching and teaching at the edges of CI: Contact Tango, Contact & Shiatsu, Contact Tantra, and Water Contact. These forms at the boundaries of conventional CI practice offer a space to notice and examine habits, and to explore the full range of our possibilities — in the dance and in life. For over 30 years he has been organising dance events across the German-speaking world. He was co-founder and co-organiser of the international Contact Festival Freiburg for 15 years.
