About this event
Brenton Cheng explores Patterns of Total Body Connectivity (PTBCs), developed by Peggy Hackney out of Bartenieff Fundamentals and Laban Movement Analysis. These developmental movement patterns underpin the complex movements of CI — when they function well, dancing is fluid, strong, and effortless; when underdeveloped, certain movements feel awkward or risky. The patterns also serve as a map of personal movement tendencies, revealing areas to explore and integrate. Each day begins with a PTBCs warm-up, moves into identifying patterns in oneself and others, and culminates in applying them functionally and creatively within contact dances. Optional evening jams Fri (20–24h) and Sat (19–22h), and a contact class Sun evening (19–22h), at the door. English, translation on request. Some prior CI experience recommended.
