About this event
It is still a mystery: what makes a dancer or their partner feel light in the dance — light but clear and fully present in the touch, whether rolling on the floor, flying up high, or changing levels? It takes grounding of body and heart to find the depth and connection that resources lightness; otherwise the dance becomes unsettling. Keeping the pelvis light when leaving the floor is part of it, as is easeful momentum and reach through the spine and arms. It is complex and can feel super simple, and as so often, the many layers of this work relate beautifully to other aspects of being human, and of being with others. A basic understanding of the weight-sharing principles of Contact Improvisation is required to join. The weekend includes an opening jam on Thursday evening and a CI Copenhagen jam facilitated by Joerg on Sunday afternoon. Space opens daily at 10:30 for self-guided warm-up.
