Brännö Sommarjam

About this event

Annual Contact Improvisation summer gathering on Brännö, a car-free island in the Gothenburg archipelago. Based at Brännöskolans gym hall, the jam runs for a full week with three jam days (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday). Wednesday: CI jam. Friday: jam with live music. Saturday: focused jam. Thursday the island hosts a separate dance at Brännö pier. Recurring Contakids sessions blend movement for adults and children together. Drop-in is welcome on single jam days without registration. The week is self-organised: morning circles, voluntary cooking rota (taco-style vegan evenings), and a shared WhatsApp chat coordinate activities. Tent pitches are available ~800 m from the hall at Herrekroken (toilet on site, showers and sauna at the school). Costs are paid separately for jam, food, and tent, each on a sliding scale. Primary language is Swedish; translation help available. Families with children especially welcome — programme designed for mixed ages.
